Pavitra is the co-founder & executive director at Basic HealthCare Services. Previously, he has worked at UNICEF’s India Country Programme for nine years, leading its child health programs across India. He also taught in the RNT Medical College in Udaipur and worked at Action Research and Training for Health (ARTH), a leading public health NGO. Pavitra is a Fellow with the prestigious National Neonatology Forum of India and is also the recipient of the Ashoka Fellowship. Sanjana is the co-founder & director nutrition at Basic HealthCare Services. Her experience spans to over 20 years and includes clinical services in RNT Medical College Udaipur and managing large community-based health programs. She also coordinated the first research study in India on community-based management of severely malnourished children. Preeti is the Operations Manager at Basic HealthCare Services. She looks after the entire operations of BHS which includes HR, finance, supply chain management, procurement, logistics & supplies, statutory requirement with compliance. Previously,Preeti has worked with Parivar Seva Sansthan (PSS) for 23 years in field of Reproductive Health & Family Planning services. Gargi is working as Primary Healthcare Physician at Basic HealthCare Services. Previously, she has worked in the Pediatric gastroenterology, liver transplant and hepatobiliary science at Vedanta hospital, Gurgaon and in Neonatology at B.J. Wadia and Nowrosjee Wadia group of hospitals at Parel Mumbai. She has also worked at other trust and corporate hospitals like Narayana hospital Jaipur, SDMH Jaipur and Max hospital Gurgaon. She holds an MBBS from Udaipur RNT medical college and MD in Pediatrics from GMC Patiala, Faridkot. She has also completed Dance Movement therapy from TISS Mumbai. I am a development practitioner with a Master of Arts in Development from Azim Premji University, Bangalore, specializing in public health. My professional experience spans key thematic areas including gender and health, community health, WASH, tobacco control, primary healthcare, adolescent wellbeing, and neonatal care. I have managed research programs, coordinated academic and outreach initiatives to foster strategic partnerships, and supported knowledge dissemination and provided administrative support for funding applications. I have led the design and implementation of a community health fellowship program, overseeing curriculum development, mentorship, and program delivery. My experience also includes monitoring and evaluation of CSR-funded healthcare initiatives during my tenure with a CSR consulting firm. I am a trained dental professional with over 15 years of clinical practice in public and private healthcare settings, including significant experience at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, where I worked closely with underserved communities. I have also completed a year-long certificate program in counselling with a focus on children and adolescents. At BHS I lead the nurse leadership program, a leadership building program for nurses from rural geographies and who work with marginalized communities.
Charishma Jones Sarman is a public health professional with 8 years of experience in roles starting as a Research Officer and moving swiftly to Program and Project Officer. Throughout her career, her work was mainly focused on strengthening health systems, particularly in the area of HIV and Tuberculosis. She has worked extensively on the development and implementation of research methods, research implementation and monitoring plans. In her current role, Charishma oversees a range of programs addressing TB, Chronic Respiratory Diseases, Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), and Nutrition. She is responsible for ensuring the timely implementation of the activities and strategies that improve outcomes in these priority areas. Beyond her interest in Universal Health Coverage, she is keen about the health impacts of climate change and the resilience of healthcare system, specifically on adaptation to the increasing frequency of extreme weather events that disrupt health services.
Jitendra Agrawal serves as the Program Manager – Finance at Basic HealthCare Services. He oversees all finance-related activities, including budget control, final accounts, and legal compliances. Jitendra holds a Master of Commerce (M.Com.) in Business Administration and brings over 34 years of experience in financial management. Dr. Ramakrishna Prasad is Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM, USA) with the expertise in Infectious diseases and Public Health. He is the Founder & Director of PCMH Restore Health, a patient-centered medical home and incubation center for innovation, people building and collaborative problem solving. He also practices as a Senior Consultant of Infectious Diseases and Family Medicine at Trustwell Hospital. Currently, he serves as the President of Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI), Karnataka and the AFPI Chair for Primary Care Research & Policy. Dr. Prasad has joined BHS as a visiting faculty to contribute towards Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) and to contribute to the capacity building initiatives, training, upskilling and strengthening of health systems.
