Our Core Values
A value is an inherent universal need, important to life and living, and which people strive to meet. BHS espouses and attempts to uphold values of:
- Commitment: A willingness to give your time and energy to something that you believe in.
- Dignity: The state of being worthy or honourable. The staff of BHS will at all times, through their action and behaviour, uphold the dignity of individuals and communities.
- Equity: Justness, fairness, and equality of rights and opportunities. Equity demands affirmative action towards the marginalized, disadvantaged and alienated. Such affirmative action will be reflected in BHS’s vision, mission, norms, policies and practice.
- Excellence: Being extremely good at something.
- Integrity: Alignment in thought, word and action. It is also freedom from corruptive influence or motive. The staff of BHS will value commitments, not misappropriate, or knowingly misrepresent facts, and will maintain transparent and accountable systems and procedures.
